Course aims and objectives
This second level qualification, delivered by Achievable Training and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), is nationally recognised in all sectors of the food industry. By the end of the course the delegate will have a greater understanding of the measures required to restrict contamination and the outbreak of food poisoning.

The course covers the following areas

Legislation
Bacteriology
Personal Hygiene
Cleaning the Workplace
Storage and Temperature Control
Prevention of Food Poisoning
Design of Premises
Pest and Waste Control

Target audience
The course is suitable for anyone who handles food as part of their job or works in a food production environment. The course will give all food handlers the essential knowledge and understanding of the good food safety practices that will protect your business.

Assessment
The course will be assessed by a short multiple choice test at the end of the day.

Duration
The course is 6 hours long and can be completed in one day or over two 3 hour sessions. The course can be run in the daytime, evenings or at weekends.
